CareFlight's helicopter operations are based in the grounds of Westmead hospital, in the demographic centre of Sydney. HIRT operates out of the Westmead base and all major helicopter maintenance work and fit-outs are carried out on these premises.

CareFlight is also currently providing aero-medical services to the Top End and has a helicopter based in Darwin, as well as four King Air turbo prop aircraft which operate out of Darwin, Katherine and Gove.
