The Hawkesbury showground became a hive of activity on Sunday with lots of men setting up displays for 'Blokes Day'.
Blokes' Day celebrates the contribution that men and boys make to their community. Whatever men’s interests, be it cars, boats, motorbikes, hobbies, food or entertainment, Blokes Day had it. There were exhibitions including Corvettes, Rural Fire Service, Fire and Rescue NSW, antique machinery, woodcraft, microlights, GP stand, hotrods, powered parachute display, general health stalls, blacksmith, drag cars, model and hobby show, men’s health show bags, free activities for kids including badge making and face painting, raffles, and armoured and military vehicles to name just a few. There were also presentations by five esteemed experts in the field of men’s health and wellbeing.
The CareFlight Rescue Sim attended, ably staffed by 'Bloke' volunteer Neil Skeen who was assisted by Val Skeen and Vicki Brownless (pictured). As usual it was a great hit with the crowd - blokes of all ages and a number of females as well!
