Hundreds of thousands of people lined the streets of Sydney last Sunday to watch the second annual Sydney Christmas Parade. Organisers estimate over 200,000 people turned out for the event which featured around 60 floats including, for the first time ever in Australia, several of the giant balloons seen in the famous Macys Christmas parade. The Parade made its way through the city, winding down Hunter Street to George Street, passing by Town Hall into Liverpool Street and finishing up with festivities in Santa’s Village at Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour.
The NRMA CareFlight float (clearly the best of the lot!) was our very own Mobile Rescue Simulator. Staff and volunteers worked together at the controls, on the winch, as the crew, walked alongside handing out brochures and drove both the truck and the well-branded Hilux complete with flashing lights which let the spectators know that our float was coming.
Our sincere thanks and appreciation to all our volunteers and our events team for managing the logistics and making the event a success.
