Orange Blossom Festival Crestwood Fair – Sunday 27 September, 2009

The new CareFlight Truck was on the road on Sunday morning to take the Rescue Helicopter Simulator to the Crestwood Fair held in Baulkham Hills. This event attracts many thousands of Hills Shire residents who enjoy rides, food, entertainment, displays, markets, demonstrations, etc.

The CareFlight tent was well attended by members of the public wanting to purchase CareFlight Bears and merchandise while the kids had a ball in the simulator. We're sure that NRMA CareFlight holds the world record for the most number of kids in a Huey!

The CareFlight team took part in the Emergency Services display, where the SES, NSW Fire Brigade, Police, Rural Fire Service and St John all worked together in a mock rescue of a person trapped in a car. The trapped person was cut out of the car, treated and stabilised and then placed in the CareFlight Helicopter for transport to hospital. This demonstration was held twice during the day and was one of the main attractions of the fair.
