The fourth annual Tahmoor Community CareFlight Day was by far the biggest and best yet. It had everything from emergency displays to rides, community stalls to acrobatic displays and fly pasts, a hot air balloon, helicopters, race cars, laser skirmish, wheelchair basketball, parachutists, face painting, Jack Russell racing - even a display by the RAAF Roulettes!
Over 100 vintage, veteran, custom or classic cars were on display alongside the oval which also featured a stage with live entertainment throughout the day.
Ably organised by our wonderful volunteer duo of Di Clarke and Di Lange and their committee of community representatives, the day went without a hitch. Thousands of people flocked to the Tahmoor Oval throughout the day to participate in the event which was 100% about raising funds for CareFlight. Donation buckets and tins were everywhere, and generous people kept putting their hands in their pockets to support our worthwhile cause. There was even a bucket collection at the exit gate!
Although hot and windy conditions persisted during the event, even the live auction saw spirited bidding by the community, all vying for a vast array of items that had been donated. The Monster CareFlight Raffle was also drawn on the day and raised significant funds.
In total the event raised over $50,000 for CareFlight - a truly remarkable effort. A HUGE thank you to everyone involved in this wonderful event, especially Di Clarke and Di Lange who have worked tirelessly on making the event bigger and better every year.
