The Wentworth Falls Golf Day started off in an unusual manner. There was a break in the tradition of rain, cloud and cold weather and instead, nothing but clear skies and sunshine welcomed the more than 70 exuberant golfers.
Over a BBQ lunch, Ian Badham thanked the players and gave them an insight into a mission that HIRT was currently undertaking. The 18 holes of golf that followed had some mixed results but everyone had fun. The CareFlight Helicopter Rescue Simulator was parked on course and many golfers took the opportunity to have a photo taken flying the helicopter on the golf course!
The annual auction which followed the golf game saw some very spirited bidding. The day ended with dinner and a chance to relax with friends.
Our good friend Max Goddard again volunteered his time for the day to help Ian Badham fleece all players for the “nearest the pin” shot. Max also donated his annual cheque of $500 which he saves throughout the year by putting a regular amount of his pension aside to give CareFlight - thank you, Max.
Special thanks also to John Wilkinson who, assisted by the team at NRMA Katoomba (Rebecca, Sarah and Sarah), raised a total of $15,756 from the day's event. A fantastic outcome - thanks to all involved.
