If you would like a weekend of fun, laughs and the opportunity to visit some incredible parts of the country, come along and join the Venture family.
For some years NRMA CareFlight has been running Motoring Events to raise funds to help support the lifesaving work of our organisation. In 2008 we have a number of exciting events planned including 4WD Ventures, CaraVenture, Motorbike Venture and even a “Heritage Trail” event for those who own motoring heritage.
It’s on again! The NRMA CareFlight 4WD Venture.
After the resounding success of our November 2007 4WD Venture, the team at NRMA CareFlight has been busy planning a new event for September 2008 that will take in the best of the Blue Mountains and Southern Sydney.
You don’t need to own a big ugly 4WD to take part in this event! If you have a vehicle that has 4WD capability and you’re keen to get out and experience the bush, then you have all that it takes to enter. We don’t get involved in risky “log hopping” and “mountain climbing” on a CareFlight 4WD Venture – it’s just good family fun for all to enjoy.
The Venture trip begins on Friday 12 September at CareFlight’s operational base in the grounds of Westmead Hospital. After a full barbeque breakfast and brief tour of the base, participants will head west to Little Hartley on the Great Western Hwy. From there, CareFlight has been given permission to proceed through private property to the Cox's River for lunch. The first night will be motel accommodation in the forestry town of Oberon.
On Saturday the group will be visiting the magnificent Kanangra Walls, then travelling through the unique Blue Mountains to the village of Taralga. Accommodation in this historic town will be in the two local pubs with a community dinner at the Taralga Sports Club.
Sunday morning the Venture group will be given a special tour of the amazing Wombeyan Caves. We will then head over to Tahmoor in the Southern Highlands to participate in the annual CareFlight Community Day.
The drive is not difficult and is suitable for all wheel drives such as Kluger, Territory, Captiva or Forester. There will be trained drivers to assist should there be any concerns, but the route is specifically aimed at novice 4WD owners. There will be opportunities for those more experienced drivers to enjoy some challenges on different parts of the trek. Check out the scenery on the video clip.
The cost of this awesome adventure is only $250 per adult or $150 for children (5-15 years old). This price includes accommodation, three breakfasts and two dinners, as well as the printed guide and support vehicles. If however, you can raise $1500 or more in sponsorship, the registration for two adults is free. If you raise $3000 or more then 4 adults can participate for free. To help you raise money or obtain sponsorship please feel free to use our fundraising website. All you need to do is set up a page and send it to your friends.
