4WD Venture – Friday 13 to Sunday 15 November, 2009

4WD Venture, November 2009

At 9am on Friday 13 November a convoy of 20 CareFlight supporter 4WDs took off on an adventure, spreading the word of CareFlight while tackling the ever surprising twists and turns that would soon turn a tame bunch of CareFlight enthusiasts into a band of adventurers!

The route was truly spectacular with a wonderful combination of difficult yet exciting terrain and picturesque landscape.

Mudgee was our first destination and upon arrival participants were treated to a tasting of wine and produce from the local area.

The evening was topped off by a delectable dinner and some Friday-the-13th fun and games.

Our journey then continued on to the historic town of Hill End, weaved its way through the beautiful Macquarie Woods and ended up in the ever-growing regional town of Bathurst.

Venturers were lucky enough to visit Mt Panorama where we enjoyed a tour of the Motor Racing Museum.

To finish off this incredible journey the Venture group had the opportunity to drive through some breathtaking countryside.

Along the course we encountered many roadblocks, including one involving some trickery on the part of dedicated CareFlight supporter Colin Seiders. He and his Car 13 crew faked a 4WD breakdown just to shoot water at unsuspecting fellow venturers! Other roadblocks manned by the omnipresent Luke Seiders and his water pistol were lots of fun and a great way to raise money for CareFlight.

All in the all the event was a tremendous success and the support shown throughout the communities was truly inspirational. A fantastic experience for all.
