A misjudged trail bike jump left a Camden man with a spinal injury at a moto-cross track in Sydney's south west this afternoon.
An NRMA CareFlight trauma doctor flew to Oran Park shortly before 3 pm to work with ambulance officers and stabilise the man.
The helicopter landed in the centre of the track where races were stopped to allow emergency teams to treat the man.
The NRMA CareFlight doctor said the 31-year-old man, from nearby Camden crashed his bike while attempting a jump at the moto-cross track.
The fall left the man with a neck injury and a loss of feeling in his legs.
After stabilisation the man was placed on one of the helicopter’s mobile intensive care modules and flown to the spinal injuries unit at the Prince of Wales Hospital at Randwick where he was in a serious but stable condition on arrival at 3.45 pm.
The man's wife accompanied him on the flight to hospital.
