Man Falls from Cherry Picker at Thornleigh Building Site

An NRMA CareFlight trauma doctor flew to a building site at Thornleigh, in Sydney’s north-west, to assist ambulance paramedics stabilise a man who fell from a cherry picker at a construction site.

The man, who was not wearing a helmet, fell from a cherry picker onto the second floor of the building just after 8.30 am.

Police met the helicopter when it landed at Thornleigh Oval and took the doctor to the site so he could team with ambulance paramedics in treating the man who suffered head and facial injuries in the three-metre fall.

The man was carried down to an ambulance and taken, under the care of the CareFlight doctor, to Westmead where he was in a serious condition on arrival at 9.35 am.
