Biker critical after hitting car outside home (Auburn)

A young trail bike rider is in an unstable critical condition after slamming into a car outside his home at Auburn, in Sydney’s west, tonight.

A “000” call to ambulance at 6.07 pm alerted the NRMA CareFlight flying trauma team to the man’s plight.

Police met the doctor and paramedic when they landed minutes after the alert in Civic Park, and drove them the final 400 metres to outside the man’s home in Norval Street.

The NRMA CareFlight doctor said the 18-year-old man smashed through the front windscreen of the small car.

The impact left the rider with open and closed head injuries, a fractured right leg, multiple left leg fractures and a compound fractured left knee.

The NRMA CareFlight doctor continued emergency treatment as the man was taken in a road ambulance to Westmead Hospital.
