An injured man is about to be flown to hospital by NRMA CareFlight after falling four metres from the roof of a house at Newport, on Sydney’s northern beaches, today.
Ambulance officers alerted the flying trauma team to the man’s plight following a “000” call.
The NRMA CareFlight doctor said the man, believed to be aged in his mid-40s, suffered a head injury which left him initially unconscious.
The man, who was unable to speak English, was working on the roof of the house when he fell.
The man was treated by ambulance paramedics and the NRMA CareFlight doctor before it was decided to fly him to Royal North Shore Hospital for further assessment.
The helicopter landed at nearby Newport Surf Club, where the team was met by police who drove them to the injured man.
The man is expected to arrive at the hospital shortly before 2 pm.
No further information was initially available
