The quick and expert effort of a nurse helped revive a motor bike rider who suffered critical injuries in a collision with a car at Leichhardt, in Sydney’s inner west, this evening.
An NRMA CareFlight doctor flew to the scene and worked with ambulance paramedics to stabilise the man, who it was thought was aged in his early 30s.
The crash, at the intersection of Norton and Allen Streets just after 6 pm, left the man with head injuries and in cardiac arrest.
The NRMA CareFlight doctor praised the efforts of the intensive care nurse in starting resuscitation as ambulance and the flying trauma team responded.
The man was placed on a ventilator to control his breathing and taken under the care of the NRMA CareFlight doctor, in a road ambulance, to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he remained in a critical condition on arrival just before 7 pm.
This morning, a building worker was critically injured when he plunged from a ladder while he was painting a unit at inner city Rozelle.
An NRMA CareFlight doctor flew to the Wulumah Close location just before 8am to work with ambulance paramedics and revive the man who suffered a heart attack after the fall.
THE NMRA CareFlight doctor said the 45-year-old man fell from the second floor height from a ladder.
After resuscitation he was taken under the care of the NRMA CareFlight doctor, in a road ambulance, to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he remained in a critical condition from his head injury.
