Toddler revived after spa immersion (Holsworthy)

A toddler was revived after being found not breathing in a spa in a house at Holsworthy, in Sydney’s south-west, this afternoon.

The 14-month-old boy’s parents, ambulance officers and an NRMA CareFlight flying trauma team combined to resuscitate him.

The NRMA CareFlight doctor said family members started CPR when they found the boy in the spa shortly before 2.30 pm.

Their efforts quickly restored his breathing.

The NRMA CareFlight team landed in a school oval almost adjacent to the boy’s Gemas Street home.

The doctor and ambulance paramedics combined to stabilise the boy then place him on a ventilator to control his breathing.

The toddler was flown under full intensive care monitoring by NRMA CareFlight to the Westmead Children’s Hospital where he was in a critical but improving condition on arrival at 3.30 pm.
