Skate boy's fall at Moore Park

A teenage skateboard rider’s fall at Moorebank, in Sydney’s south-west, sparked a flying trauma team response this afternoon.

Acting on an initial report just after 2 pm that the 14-year-old boy was unconscious, the NRMA CareFlight trauma team landed beside to the Moorebank Skate Park in Epsom Road.

The NRMA CareFlight doctor said the boy was conscious on the team’s arrival but had suffered a badly fractured left arm and was lucky not to have been more seriously injured.

The boy, from Berkeley Vale on the Central Coast, was staying with relatives at Moorebank during the school holidays.

The doctor worked with ambulance paramedics to stabilise the boy then continue treatment as he was taken, in a road ambulance, to nearby Liverpool Hospital.

The boy was in a stable condition on arrival at Liverpool Hospital just before 3 pm.
