A young boy was flown to hospital by NRMA CareFlight after he was critically injured when he fell through a skylight at Galston, in Sydney’s north-west, earlier this afternoon.
The NRMA CareFlight trauma team was alerted to the boy’s plight when his friend phoned “000” to the Ambulance Service at 12.30 pm.
The NRMA CareFlight team landed at an oval close to the scene just before 12.45pm.
NSW Fire Brigades Rescue assisted the NRMA CareFlight doctor and paramedics in gaining access to the building.
The doctor and ambulance paramedics then combined to stabilise the boy and place him on a ventilator to control his breathing.
The NRMA CareFlight doctor said the boy suffered a head injury which left him unconscious after he plunged 5 meters when he fell through a skylight on the roof the building.
The boy was flown under full intensive care monitoring by NRMA CareFlight to the Westmead Children’s Hospital where he was in a critical condition on arrival at 2.15 pm.
