Near drowning sparks emergency alert (Lethbridge Park)

An 18-month boy remains in a critical condition after being found in a backyard pool at Lethbridge Park, in Sydney’s west, today.

Ambulance paramedics started resuscitation when they reached the house at Sandakan Crescent shortly before midday.

An NRMA CareFlight trauma team landed in an adjacent park and police drove them to the house to allow the crew doctor to work with the officers in their bid to revive the child.

The NRMA CareFlight doctor continued resuscitation as the boy was taken, in a road ambulance, to Westmead Children’s Hospital where he remained in a critical condition on arrival just after 12.30 pm.
