Trauma team flies to balcony fall boy (Lakemba)

Emergency services raced to a unit at Lakemba after a young boy fell from a first floor unit today.

Ambulance paramedics were joined by an NRMA CareFlight trauma doctor to treat the nine-year-old boy who fell an estimated two metres onto a concrete path shortly after 11 am.

Police met the NRMA CareFlight helicopter team when they landed in nearby Parry Park and drove the doctor to the unit where the boy was semi-conscious as the result of suffering a head injury.

After stabilisation the boy was taken in a road ambulance, accompanied by his mother and under treatment by the doctor, to the Westmead Children’s Hospital where he was in a stable condition on arrival.
