Cecil Hills youth falls from ladder (Kingsford)

A building worker suffered serious head injuries when he fell from a ladder while working behind a shop at Kingsford, in Sydney’s east, today.

The fall left the 17-year-old unconscious for 20 minutes at the Anzac Parade site.

Emergency services were alerted to the youth’s plight just before 9am with police meeting the NRMA CareFlight helicopter when it landed at a University of New South Wales oval minutes later.

The NRMA CareFlight doctor worked with ambulance paramedics to stabilise the injured worker.

The NRMA CareFlight doctor said the youth, from Cecil Hills, suffered a severe head injury.

After stabilization he was taken in a road ambulance, under continuing treatment by the doctor, to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital to undergo neurological examination.

The youth was in a serious but stable condition on arrival the hospital.
