A three-car crash which caused peak-hour traffic chaos left a woman with serious chest injuries at Rydalmere in Sydney’s west this afternoon.
Emergency services including NRMA CareFlight’s rapid-response critical care team rushed to the west-bound crash on busy Victoria Road just before 4.30 pm.
The helicopter landed at the front of an adjacent industrial park to allow the crew doctor to work with ambulance paramedics in treating the driver of one car.
The NRMA CareFlight doctor said the 41-year-old woman, from Quakers Hill, suffered multiple fractured ribs, chest injuries and an initial loss of consciousness.
After stabilisation she was taken under the doctor’s continuing treatment, in a road ambulance, to Westmead Hospital where she remained in a serious but stable condition on arrival.
