Trauma team treats unconscious boy hit by car (North Parramatta)

Updated at 6pm.

An NRMA CareFlight doctor worked with ambulance paramedics to treat a teenage boy who suffered critical head injuries when hit by a car at North Parramatta in Sydney’s west this afternoon.

Emergency services rushed to the intersection of Macarthur Street and Victoria Road when alerted to the boy’s plight just before 3.30 pm.

The boy, believed to be aged about 14 or 15, was left unconscious with head and leg injuries.

The NRMA CareFlight trauma team landed in nearby Doyle Ground where a police car took the crew doctor to the scene to work with ambulance paramedics in treating the boy.

After initial stabilisation the boy was placed in a road ambulance where he was taken, under continuing treatment by the crew doctor, to the Westmead Children’s Hospital to undergo neurological examination.

East bound traffic on Victoria Road was blocked to allow police to conduct investigations.

No further information was initially available.
