Driver airlifted from sidecar crash (Oran Park)

A man was flown to hospital by NRMA CareFlight after crashing his sidecar bike during a race at Oran Park today.

Ambulance officers alerted the rapid-response trauma team to the man’s plight at 9.20 am.

The NRMA CareFlight doctor said the 23-year-old man, from Bradbury, apparently lost control on a bend and suffered head and neck injuries. His sidecar passenger escaped injury.

The crew doctor worked with paramedics at the track to stabilise the man before flying him to Liverpool Hospital where he was in a stable condition on arrival just one hour after the crash.

The mission continued NRMA CareFlight’s 23-year history of providing medical treatment to people in Sydney-s south west.
