A man was left unconscious after he fell four metres from a ladder at the front of his home at Warrawee in Sydney’s north late today.
Ambulance, police and the NRMA CareFlight rapid-response trauma team rushed to treat the man shortly after 5 pm after family members raised the alarm.
The NRMA CareFlight team landed in a nearby oval at Knox Grammar where police met the helicopter to take the doctor and duty ambulance paramedic to the man.
The crew doctor said the 52-year-old man partially regained consciousness but had suffered a serious head injury.
The doctor worked with ambulance paramedics to stabilise the man and place him under an induced coma on a ventilator to control his breathing.
The man is now being taken in a road ambulance, under continuing treatment by the NRMA CareFlight doctor, to Royal North Shore Hospital for neurological assessment.
The man remains in a serious condition.
