Man thrown into service station off motorbike

A 35yr old man was thrown from his motor bike after he hit a car head on whilst riding on Heathcote Road late this afternoon. The incident happened near Newbridge Road just 5 minutes drive from Liverpool Hospital.

The NRMA CareFlight trauma team responded to the incident just after 4:30pm. When the CareFlight helicopter landed the crew found the man lying in the driveway of a nearby service station. It is presumed he landed there after being thrown from the motorcycle.

Police were already on scene. The man had suffered a dislocated hip and fractured pelvis.

The CareFight doctor, assisted by ambulance personnel, stabilized the man then continued treatment while the patient was transported to Liverpool Hospital by road ambulance.

The CareFlight doctor said the rider was in a stable condition but would require surgery.
