Trauma team treating unconscious fall toddler (Ingleburn)

An NRMA CareFlight doctor is working with ambulance paramedics to treat a toddler who has been left unconscious after falling from a bed at Ingleburn, in Sydney’s south-west, today.

Ambulance officers alerted the rapid-response trauma team to the girl’s plight shortly after 10.30 am, with the helicopter landing minutes later in a park at Ingleburn.

The CareFlight doctor, a specialist anaesthetist, has given the girl a general anaesthetic and placed her on a ventilator to control her breathing.

The girl is about to be flown, under full intensive care management, to the Westmead Children’s Hospital for further assessment and ongoing care.
