A boy remains in a critical condition in hospital after being trapped under a sheet of glass outside his Warrawee home in Sydney’s north today. Rescue teams praised the quick efforts of his father in starting CPR when he found his son unconscious following the freak accident at his Brentwood Avenue home. The NRMA CareFlight doctor also praised the response of ambulance and police who reached the home within minutes of the alert. Ambulance, police and NRMA CareFlight rushed to the home following a “000” alert shortly before 10.30 am, with police meeting the helicopter at a nearby oval to transport the specialist trauma doctor to the house. The NRMA CareFlight doctor and ambulance paramedics took over resuscitation and were able to restart the nine-year-old boy’s heart. The doctor continued emergency treatment as the boy was taken by road ambulance, under police escort, to the Westmead Children’s Hospital where he remained in a critical condition on arrival.
