Two walk away from forced landing (Warragamba)

The two occupants of a light aircraft walked away from a "text book" forced landing near Warragamba Dam, in Sydney's far west, today.

Emergency services rushed to the location when the pilot issued a mayday radio call shortly before 11 am.

The NRMA CareFlight rapid response critical care helicopter crew located the Cessna 152 single engine training aircraft at a paddock minutes later.

Ambulance, police and fire services arrived following the alert.

The pilot, a man aged in his 50s and the co-pilot, a woman aged in her 20s, were unharmed.

It appeared the aircraft developed an oil leak, forcing the two to make an emergency landing.

The aircraft was undamaged in the landing.
