Man trapped as car and bus collide (Dundas)

A man suffering head injuries was trapped in the wreckage of his car which collided with a bus at Dundas this afternoon.

Fire Brigade Rescue, Ambulance Paramedics and the NRMA CareFlight trauma team rushed to the man's aid when the crash on Evans Road was reported at 2.45 pm.

The helicopter landed in a field adjacent to the crash.

The NRMA CareFlight doctor said the man had regained consciousness when emergency teams arrived within minutes of the alert, but Fire Brigade officers had to cut him from the car.

The 45-year-old man, from Telopea, was stabilised before he was taken in a road ambulance, under continuing treatment by the CareFlight doctor, to Westmead Hospital where he was in a serious but stable condition on arrival.
