A man suffered multiple injuries when struck by a truck at inner-city Zetland this afternoon.
The NRMA CareFlight trauma doctor teamed with ambulance paramedics to treat the man at the intersection of Cook and McPherson Lanes after the helicopter landed in a nearby park.
The CareFlight doctor said the 41-year-old man suffered multiple fractures, facial and internal injuries but had regained consciousness when emergency teams arrived just after 2 pm.
He was taken by road ambulance, under treatment by the doctor, to St Vincents Hospital where he was in a critical condition on arrival.
