Women injured in 4WD crash (Ambarvale)

NRMA CareFlight responded to a single car motor vehicle accident involving two people one of whom was an 18-y-old girl.

Just after 4.30pm the CareFlight rapid response critical care medical team received information regarding a young woman being thrown from a Mitsubishi 4 WD which had crashed into a tree on Crispsparkle Drive, Ambarvale.

A second person, who was driving the vehicle, was trapped in the car for some time while rescue crews cut the car away. The driver, believed to be in her early 40’s was conscious.

The younger female patient suffered multiple fractures to her lower body and a slight head injury. It seems she had made her own way out of the vehicle and collapsed nearby.

The woman was stabilised by the NRMA CareFlight doctor and ambulance paramedics, then flown to Liverpool hospital in the CareFlight helicopter.

The CareFlight coctor described her condition as stable at the time of transport.
