Mobile Clinical Training

The Clinical Training Program is designed to provide greater levels of support through training and education to rural and remote clinicians. It includes the 'Trauma, Assessment, Resuscitation & Transport' (TART) Program and Trauma Team Training (TTT). Both programs are delivered in partnership with the Institute of Trauma and Injury Management (ITIM) and participation is via invitation only.

Through simulation training, clinicians can:

  • practise in safe but real life situations - patients not at risk;
  • learn how to communicate effectively and make right and timely decisions;
  • learn how to function in stressful environments;
  • gain confidence in dealing with real patients;
  • practise skills in situations that they don’t regularly encounter;
  • train in teams in the way that they actually work;
  • retain learning more effectively.

As a direct result of the training, rural and remote healthcare capacity will be built, the quality of community healthcare will grow and develop, clinicians will be more likely to remain local, health outcomes will improve and lives will be saved.
