CareFlight is an Australian charitable organisation with 30 years’ experience in aeromedicine.  With bases in NSW and the NT’s Top End, our crews are dedicated to providing the highest standard of rapid response critical care to the ill and injured.  Our specially trained doctors and nurses use helicopters, aeroplanes, medi-jets and road ambulances to bring a hospital level of care to and transport around 5,000 patients each year.

The role

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Airframe/Engine LAME to join our Northern Operations.  Reporting to the Engineering Base Manager and Director of Engineering you will be responsible for maintaining King Air B200 aircraft in Darwin. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • maintaining CareFlight aircraft within the scope of licencing requirements and in accordance with the CareFlight Maintenance Control and Procedures Manuals;
  • carrying out regular servicing of ground support equipment and maintenance of aircraft components;
  • managing the timely completion of maintenance / engineering activities and maintenance documentation;
  • maintaining aircraft and engine log books; and
  • using safe working practices, identifying hazards and using the CareFlight Safety Reporting system.

About you

 To be successful in this role you will possess the following:

  • CASA Part 66 AME B1.1 Licence with previous B200 King Air / PWC PT6A-42 experience;
  • the ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • sound organisation and problem solving skills;
  • effective interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with crew from varying disciplines / levels; and
  • a professional service oriented attitude.

The following will be highly regarded:

  • CASA LAME licencing on Airframe/Engine Beechjet 400 with PWC JT15D and/or Williams FJ44 engines;
  • CASA Part 66 AME B1.3 Licence on large helicopters; and
  • CASA Part 66 AME B1.3 Licence on Agusta Westland AW139 (PT6A-67).
