CareFlight is an aeromedical charity providing pre-hospital care to the critically ill and injured, utilising helicopters, jets and road ambulances to take the intensive care trauma team to the patient. For the critically ill or injured, every second can make the difference between life and death.

Six, nine or 12 month terms for advanced trainees in Anaesthetics, Intensive Care or Emergency Medicine are available.
Northern Territory positions involve high acuity transfers by turboprop aircraft, but also include some helicopter operations, pre-hospital and rescue work. Many transfers are from remote Aboriginal communities and areas such as the world famous Kakadu National Park and Arnhem Land.
Sydney positions involve pre-hospital and interhospital critical care transports as well as pre-hospital exposure as part of the rapid response helicopter trauma system. These positions also involve retrievals and repatriations with CareFlight’s International Air Ambulance.
Above average fitness, comfortable working at heights and in water and ability to safely adapt and implement change in clinical practice to the pre-hospital environment. Previous transport experience is not required as all necessary training is provided during an intensive induction program. Successful completion of pre-employment physical assessment prior to interview.
Salary is commensurate with Public Hospital Medical Officer’s Award.
