 CareFlight is an Australian charitable organisation with 30 years’ experience in aeromedicine.  With bases in NSW and the NT’s Top End, our crews are dedicated to providing the highest standard of rapid response critical care to the ill and injured.  Our specially trained doctors and nurses use helicopters, aeroplanes, medi-jets and road ambulances to bring a hospital level of care to and transport around 5,000 patients each year.

The role

 We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Relationship Development Officer to join our Fundraising Team.  Reporting to the Direct Marketing Manager, your key objective will be to grow donor relationships and identify potential new major donors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • executing a new top donor cold calling acquisition program;
  • executing a structured sales acquisition approach with existing donors;
  • administering a bequest portfolio in consultation with legal counsel;
  • monthly reporting of outcomes for donations and bequests;
  • achieving agreed top donor and bequest sales targets;
  • participating in weekly top donor and bequest meeting;
  • working with the Business Development Manager to develop a sponsorable asset and product list;
  • assisting the General Manager, Fundraising & Community Engagement as required; and
  • assisting the Community Engagement Team from time to time when requested.

About you

 To be successful in this role you will have:

  • proven sales or fundraising experience based primarily on phone call appointment and face to face meetings;
  • the ability to develop rapport and form positive relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds;
  • effective and efficient time management skills with a focus on ROI;
  • excellent interpersonal, communication, organisation and planning skills;
  • the ability to interact well in a team but also be able to work independently;
  • sound skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel;
  • the willingness to participate in fundraising activities and be involved in occasional after hours activities; and
  • a current drivers licence

Being a competent public speaker will also be held in high regard.
