CareFlight’s new hangar to open with gala ball

On Saturday 30 June the newly built CareFlight hangar at Darwin International airport will be transformed into a ballroom awash with fairy lights, ball gowns and champagne, when CareFlight welcomes the community at its annual fundraising ball.

Transporting guests back to the big band era of old, the CareFlight ‘Come Fly With Me’ 2018 Hangar Ball is set to be a night to remember, with Darwin star auctioneer Karl Secondis and local media-personality Amanda Pernechele as MC, throwing their support behind the good cause.

Moo Media Director Amanda Pernechele said as a long-term Territorian she was passionate about supporting charities and organisations that provide invaluable services to the wider community.

The 2018 CareFlight ‘Come Fly With Me’ Ball is CareFlight’s flagship fundraising event of the year to raise funds for the Territory’s only dedicated rescue helicopter and the CareFlight aeromedical retrieval service.

Using turbo-prop and jet aircraft and the Top End Rescue Helicopter, CareFlight crews fly more than 5,000 patients a year – on average 12 people a day – in a bid to save lives, speed recovery and serve the community by providing the highest standard of pre-hospital critical care.

Tickets are for sale now online here for $250 per person, or $2500 for corporate tables of ten.

There are corporate tables available with a tax deductibility component – for more information on corporate packages or if you would like to support CareFlight with donations, sponsorship or auction items, please contact Chelsea Stacey, CareFlight Hangar Ball coordinator, on (08) 8928 9705 or via email at
