Event date: Sunday, 30 June, 2019
Hundreds of keen runners and cyclists will once again make their way through scenic bushland in the beautiful Blue Mountains National Park in support of CareFlight through this classic event.
This year’s Woodford to Glenbrook (W2G) will continue to be split into a 25km event and a 5km event.
Participants are supported the full length of the track by Rural Fire Service crews, who will be stationed along the way providing first aid and drinks. A CareFlight doctor and St John Ambulance volunteers will also attend to lend their support. The events will share the facilities.
Both events will finish with a community fair-style reception in the beautiful Euroka Clearing. Families are welcome to join in the fun – there’ll be activities for the kids, food stalls and displays. Presentations are made throughout the day.
- Up to 600 entrants will run or ride the Oaks Fire Trail through the beautiful Blue Mountains National Park from the town of Woodford down to the Euroka Clearing near Glenbrook. Covering 25km of undulating bushland, the trail is incredibly scenic and a must for keen mountain bikers and trail runners.
- Up to 200 runners will run 5km from the intersection of the Oaks Trail and Bennett Ridge trail to the Euroka Clearing. This run is a new event to be run in conjunction with the CareFlight Woodford to Glenbrook Classic.
For the 25km event, mountain bike riders start from 9.00am and runners start from 10.00am.
The 5km run will start at 11.30am, after the cyclists in the W2G Classic have all passed the start point; a separate starting pad will be used for this run.
Exact start times and transport and parking details will be advised closer to the event. Note: 5km run entrants will be bussed to the start from their choice of Glenbrook Railway Station or Euroka Clearing.
For the 25km event, registration is $80 for adults and $35 for juniors.
For the 5km event, registration is $30 for adults and $15 for juniors.
PLEASE NOTE. Riders with EBikes or other forms of motorised assistance are welcome to participate, but they will not be eligible for category placing. These riders will receive times only.
Teams and individuals are welcome to enter.
