A 23-year-old man suffered serious head and chest injuries after he fell from a roof in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs late this morning.

It’s understood the man fell while undertaking work on the roof of a two-storey building.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to Maroubra, landing at Coral Sea Oval just before 11am.

Police rushed CareFlight’s medical crew the short distance to the patient on Anzac Parade. NSW Ambulance crews were also on scene.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic sedated the man, placing him in an induced coma and on a ventilator to stabilise him.

The medical crew continued treatment as the man was transported by road ambulance to St George Hospital in a critical condition.
