Four passengers were injured in a multiple car and a truck collision on the M2 motorway this afternoon.
It’s understood four cars and a truck were involved in the accident.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to the motorway in Pennant Hills at 4.22pm, dropping off the medical team six minutes later.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic treated the most seriously injured patient, a 62-year-old male, at the scene. The man was trapped in his car for 40 minutes, where it was wedged against the truck.
CareFlight’s medical crew provided ongoing care for the 62-year-old man as he was taken by road ambulance to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A NSW Ambulance helicopter also attended to drop off a medical team who assisted a second patient who was also seriously injured. It is understood the patient was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
NSW Fire & Rescue teams extricated two patients who were trapped in separate vehicles.
NSW Ambulance road crews were also on scene assisting the patients. It is understood two were taken by road to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition
