A 16-year-old boy leaving his school in Carlingford was struck by a vehicle as he was crossing the road this afternoon.

The boy sustained injuries to his legs and suffered a seizure from the incident.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 3:10pm and landed less than ten minutes later in a nearby oval. NSW Police escorted the clinical team to the scene of the incident where NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the teenager and conducted an ultrasound to assess his injuries.

The boy was taken by road in a stable condition with NSW Ambulance to Westmead Hospital under ongoing observation from CareFlight’s clinical team.
