A 70-year-old man performing renovations in his Killcare Heights home has fallen two storeys through the floor.
According to witnesses the man landed on his head and lost consciousness from the impact.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 11:30am and landed 45 minutes later in the grounds of Bells at Killcare. NSW Ambulance paramedics had treated the man at the scene of the incident and transported him to CareFlight’s clinical team in the clearing.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the man for his head injuries. The team intubated the patient and placed the man in an induced coma to stabilise him.
The man was airlifted in a critical condition to Royal North Shore Hospital under ongoing treatment from CareFlight’s clinical team.
