Annette – CareFlight Past Patient

After a knee replacement in 2005, I went into respiratory arrest. I needed to be transferred quickly to another hospital for specialist care, so CareFlight was called to take me. I was placed in an induced coma for 6 days. Later, after my recovery, I organised a group of colleagues to attend a CareFlight open day. I was truly amazed at the range of work they do, even behind the scenes. Whilst we were there, we witnessed the medical and flight crew being tasked for lifesaving work which is the key part of their roles.

Over many years I made regular monthly donations as a member of CareFlight Support Crew program and CareFlight Raffle. I have also made the decision to leave CareFlight a gift in my Will.

Mick – CareFlight Supporter

Mick has been a valued supporter of CareFlight for over 20 years. But it was whilst working at the Australian Botanic Garden, as a Ranger, that Mick truly appreciated just why CareFlight is so important.

He recalls an incident involving a school group and witnessed CareFlight’s critical work firsthand. “One day we had a school student who suffered a fall and spinal injuries were suspected. 000 were called and CareFlight were tasked, the CareFlight team were fantastic that day”.

Mick has made the very special decision to leave a gift in his Will to support CareFlight.  “In fact, it is one of the easiest ways to help CareFlight, which perhaps not too many supporters consider. It is such a simple thing to do any time you create or update your Will. It has given me a feeling of great satisfaction deep in my heart.”  Mick is generously leaving a percentage of his estate to support CareFlight and our critical services into the future.
