A 10-week-old baby boy has been airlifted from Wamberal after falling a metre from a table.
The infant sustained head injuries and was initially unresponsive.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly before 11.00am and landed 15 minutes later at the Terrigal Rugby Club. NSW Ambulance paramedics had already provided initial treatment for the patient and transported him and his mother to the club.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic examined the infant and performed a clinical assessment before preparing for flight transfer.
The baby was airlifted with his mother in a stable condition to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead under ongoing observation from CareFlight’s aeromedical team.
