A 45-year-old man has sustained burns to his hands, arms and torso following a house fire in Fairfield.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked shortly after 2pm today, landing less than 10 minutes later on an oval near the scene.NSW Police escorted CareFlight’s aeromedical crew to the scene of the incident where NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment to the patient.
Once with the patient, CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic assessed the man before providing pain relief.
The man was taken to Concord Hospital by road ambulance under ongoing treatment by CareFlight’s medical team.
Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW police were also at the scene of the incident. The man’s three family members who were also home at the time of the fire, including an infant, escaped without significant injuries.
