A man has been seriously injured in an industrial park in Camelia this morning after he was crushed by a garbage skip collecting truck.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene shortly before 10am, landing within walking distance from the incident.
The man believed to be between 50 – 60 years of age had been hit by the truck and was initially trapped. He was released by NSW Fire and Rescue crew at the scene. He suffered chest and head injuries so CareFlight’s clinical team intubated him at the scene.
Once stabilised he was transferred to a NSW road ambulance and under the supervision of CareFlight’s clinical team, was taken to Westmead Hospital.
