A 75-year-old male is in a serious condition after becoming trapped between a car and a wall this morning in Katoomba.
It is understood the man was reversing his car into a shed when his body came into contact with a brick wall causing him to become trapped.
The CareFlight rapid response helicopter was tasked just after 9.30am to Katoomba, landing at Katoomba showground.
Fire and rescue crews worked carefully to free the man who remained trapped for about 25 minutes.
Ambulance paramedics provided initial treatment to the patient before conveying him to the CareFlight helicopter.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic continued treatment on the man who suffered multiple injuries to his upper and lower body.
He was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police also attended the scene.
