A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after crashing into a race track wall at high speed this afternoon.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to Eastern Creek Raceway in Sydney’s west, landing on the track.
The rider, in his 30s, was travelling at an estimated 200kmh when he struck the wall.
Initially unconscious, he was treated at the scene by track paramedics who were also joined by NSW Ambulance crews before the CareFlight medical team arrived.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic provided further treatment at the scene for serious head, shoulder and back injuries.
The rider was then transferred to a road ambulance where the medical team provided ongoing care on the way to Westmead hospital where he was admitted in a stable condition.
