A 32-year-old woman has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after being hit by a car while walking on a footpath on the main thoroughfare of Chatswood’s CBD this morning.
It’s understood the woman was hit when the car mounted the footpath on Victoria Avenue before it collided with a shopfront and rolled on its side.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked at 8.34am, landing shortly after in Beauchamp Park.
Police met the helicopter and rushed CareFlight’s medical team to the scene where they joined NSW Ambulance paramedics.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic intubated the woman at the scene.
She was taken by road ambulance under ongoing care from CareFlight’s doctor and admitted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.
