A 35-year-old woman was flown to hospital with serious burns from the Central Coast this afternoon.

An 8-year-old male who suffered minor burns was taken by road ambulance to hospital.

CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter was tasked to Patonga at 2.15pm, landing in an oval near the scene.

The woman suffered burns to the legs, abdomen and arms when the boat caught fire.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic provided treatment for the injuries at the scene. She was then airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
