A 53-year-old man was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after a motorcycle crash near Wollongong this morning.
The man suffered serious head and pelvic injuries when his motorcycle collided with a concrete barrier in Woonona.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked at 10.30am, landing shortly after on the road next to the accident scene.
NSW Ambulance crews were also on scene.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic intubated the man before he was transferred by helicopter under intensive care to St George Hospital.
