A 22-year-old man was knocked unconscious after falling from a boat in Sydney’s north-west this evening.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to Sackville around 7pm, landing near the scene on the shore of the Hawkesbury River, close to Martin Road.
The man had fallen from the boat at high speed and was initially unconscious, face down when he was rescued by boaters.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic team assessed the man, who had head and neck injuries, at the scene. He was transferred to the helicopter and flown to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
